Middelwater Farm is situated just off the N1 on the R30 Brandfort Road (GPS coordinates, -28.914278, 26.326005), approximately 30km outside of Bloemfontein.
Jacques and Marica Strydom bought the farm in November 2017, with the vision of sharing this farm and farm life with Bloemfonteiners and people passing by.
There are many components that make up Middelwater Farm:
MIDDELWATER FARM HOTEL
The Middelwater Farm Hotel is situated on the farm and has 3 luxury rooms available, each with the most beautiful views, but still also a short drive from Bloemfontein. Breakfast is included in the accommodation rate. Lunch and dinner are optional extras and are available on request. The stunning kitchen area in the hotel can be used to host cooking demos.
Middelwater Farm Hotel has won a 2019 Certificate of Excellence award from Afristay. This award was based on Middelwater Farm Hotel achieving Gold Prestige Status.The hotel was also awarded the 2020 Booking.com Traveller Review Awards with an average of 9.5.
The Be Backpackers is situated on Middelwater Farm and has an en-suite unit, a 12-sleeper dorm unit and 8 2-sleeper container units – all with shared kitchen, lounge and bathroom facilities. All units are self-catering
The Kliphuis is situated at Bishops Glen, 12km from Middelwater Farm. This is a self-catering unit and sleeps 8 people.
A-FRAME BUSH CAMP
The A-Frame Bush Camp is situated at Botha’s Hoek, 14km from Middelwater Farm. There are 6 self-catering A-Frame units and each sleeps 2 adults and 1 child
